This lone figure is Andrew (Vern) Stokes, Senior Soldier, Garrison Sergeant Major London, Defence Ceremonial Expert. In his post on social media, following Her Majesty's funeral, he said:
"I might look alone in this first photo, I wasn’t, there were many hands on my shoulder."
"I have never been part of a more magical team, supported by the most amazing people; at work by the superb Military and Civil Service planning team in Horse Guards and the London Military Operations Centre and a whole raft of hugely professional and impressive organisations, friends and colleagues."

It has been an incredible 11 days, the outcome of which was the dignified last journey of Her Majesty by her Armed Forces; the organisation of which was meticulous.
