“In 2022, as the world reemerged and entered a new era, people searched for new possibilities more than ever before,” explains Google.
If you were to look for a common theme amongst the trending searches on Google, Youtube or the likes, top hits would fall into the category of looking for new opportunities, new skill-sets.
'How to' Videos have never been more popular and are now leading the trend.
Many looking for new opportunities are doing so as they have just experience their toughest years yet of restriction, stifling isolation and discontent.
When liberty is taken from us, we come to realise the power of turning towards what we do have, with joy, rather than focusing on what we don’t have or are missing out on.
And what we do have is choice and opportunity.
Choice to do as we please and not have to endure imposed 'direction'.
People are now looking to find a new direction.

Small Step, Big Difference!
The last time I posted here, I was so struck by this quote that I’d seen posted by Vicky Etherington, The Website Mentor, that I did exactly what she suggested and knuckled down to business:
The fact is, we think we’re masters of multi-tasking, but it’s simply not possible.
When we constantly switch from task to task, our productivity drops away and we struggle to get any meaningful work done.
Peter Drucker said: “Efficiency is doing the thing right. Effectiveness is doing the right thing.”
I see so many well-crafted posts that make a brief impression but what I wanted to know is …
What really moves the needle and creates a valuable outcome?
And I found it right here … I blocked out all distraction, put my head down and have just completed one of Vicky’s invaluable courses.
All credit to Vicky’s no frills mentoring, I’ve finally moved from
What I think I want my business to be,

My friend and associate Dr Linda has become increasingly concerned that many are struggling and are lacking the knowledge and understanding needed to pull on the 'emergency break' so to speak, when life gets rather too much to handle, so this week I've decided to use the video feature in my blog.
The video is self explanatory. Linda delivery is deliberately slow and thought provoking. You will learn much from her wisdom and generosity of spirit.
The notion that Linda explains, in this video, is that while we all prepare ourselves for practical emergencies, for emotional or 'wellbeing' emergencies we are far from prepared ...
We may have our emergency wipes for minor bumps and scrapes.
We have cards to hand for that emergency plumber or breakdown company that we might need to call, should the need arise.
Yet often, in our busy lives, we are encountering wellbeing emergencies that we are wholly unprepared for.
Watch the video and listen...
Having taken a holistic look at the many dimensions of Health and Wellness, we have come to realise the connectivity between these aspects and how they present themselves in reality. How they affect our vitality.
After a 'down' time, (see my earlier blog, You Are Not Alone), it is important not to wallow in any low mood you may be experiencing; otherwise the 'brain-fog' and sluggishness may quickly come to roost!
With New Beginnings comes fresh resolve.
We have talked about the importance of allowing ourselves to 'feel the feels', to love, to fear, to dread, to grieve; to experience the highs and lows and then to return to our senses (oneself), and allow ourselves to simply be human ...
It's time to be your own best bet, from this point forward. Learn to rely on yourself. You have everything you need within you.
Learn to nurture and appreciate 'me time'. To look after yourself as number one, as only then can you ensure...
This lone figure is Andrew (Vern) Stokes, Senior Soldier, Garrison Sergeant Major London, Defence Ceremonial Expert. In his post on social media, following Her Majesty's funeral, he said:
"I might look alone in this first photo, I wasn’t, there were many hands on my shoulder."
"I have never been part of a more magical team, supported by the most amazing people; at work by the superb Military and Civil Service planning team in Horse Guards and the London Military Operations Centre and a whole raft of hugely professional and impressive organisations, friends and colleagues."
Let us remember ...
It has been an incredible 11 days, the outcome of which was the dignified last journey of Her Majesty by her Armed Forces; the organisation of which was meticulous.
A superb endeavour.
In my earlier post, when I wrote about New Beginnings, I did not imagine, for one moment, that we were about to lose our dearest...
When we’re little we have so many hopes and dreams
As we grow, life throws so much at us that it can feel overbearing at times …
Don’t downgrade your hopes and dreams to match the current reality.
Instead, upgrade them and wish to your heart’s content.
Having a vision of how good life can be, helps to propel you forward.
It increases your resolve and determination.
Helps you to see the bigger picture.
Don’t let the doom peddlers get you down.
Let’s champion those who succeed against the odds:

Linda Khalid
Martha Van Dam, M.S., LMHC, NCC
to name but a few.
Life hold no promises but a positive mindset does more than just help you maintain your resilience, it improves your immunity and gives you a fighting chance, going forward.
I wish you well in everything you do.
Thinking especially of all those who have children back at school / nursery this week (or last) and feel the anticipation and joy that...
Practice going with your gut-instinct more often and reap the benefit!
You INSTINCTIVELY know what to do.
Here's the problem;
We all know what to do, but we don't always... DO WHAT WE KNOW!
Have you heard the expression "The 5-second rule"?
Try it! Here's a link to my prompt sheet
It can make the difference between following your instinct or talking yourselves out of it.
Here's how ...
Say in your head - 5 - 4 - 3 - 2 - 1 (Go Go Go) and launch into the moment without hesitation.
If you tend to let your mind-chatter talk you out of things, use the 5 second rule but count backwards, so say - 5, 4, 3, 2, 1
The science behind it ...
The thought process between Yes or No, equates to the 5 second gap between decision made and our mind chatter telling us otherwise!
So go for it.
Break the habit of procrastination and self-doubt.
Surprise yourself.
Change your life in 5 seconds. It's...
Wait, so you're afraid to shine
because you're worried about
the opinion of people around you
... who are also afraid to shine?
Sounds like a severe case of needing new people around you!
You want to change but you're holding yourself back, and why?
WHY? Ask yourself.
Instead of others stealing your motivation, remember that the reason you're seeking change is your motivation!
Ask yourself, why might you be seeking change?
Look at the diagram above ... why not sketch your own mind map, similar to this one?
Add your own reasons.
See if you can identify just what it is that you are after, how you'd prefer to be. What is it that you're no longer satisfied with?
How would you feel if you made that change?
Why is it important to you?
I've created the 'Your Why' diagram as a prompt but go ahead and create your own.
Don't wait for the right time ...
Only you can do this and if your stress response is triggered when you try to step out of your...
I decided to GIVE UP on Instagram...
I've loved creating Reels and having fun on the platform...
But... I realised I wasn't getting a return on investment of my time or my team's time.
When I studied the data (yep, that is SO important for your business)...
I realised that I was getting much better ROI elsewhere...
Nowadays, I share my weekly Blog on my website...
And post on Instagram if I feel like it...
And here's the thing, I'm also noticing a chunk of Insta influencers talking about other social media platforms...
As Instagram algorithm reach is spluttering to a stall, they're increasingly asking, where next?!
And here's why they're turning to other video hosting platforms:
>> Videos can become your evergreen content machine and LAST YEARS rather than days.
>> People are actively searching on Google for solutions ...
Type any question or search term into Google and see what suggestions it comes up with for example type the term Fire Fighting and you'll get...
